bad blood was written all over this fixture before we even played it. not only that but to top it all off, we have the same ref from the game when it was our home fixture.

big ash floated a lovely ball into the area, but with a glancing header all he could get on it, lil ash couldnt do the justice the cross deserved. poor marking resulted in talk talk midfielder being able to run onto a loose ball and rifle it into the roof of the net for an early 1-0 lead.

before to long it was 2-0 as players didnt listen to anothers call and left their man, only to drag more players out of position leaving us totally exposed for a left hand top corner goal.

third goal. jambo's miss-judgement...and total miss of a corner resulted in dave trying to clear off the line but to no avail as the ref deemed rodney was over when he cleared.

a long throw from welshy allowed lil ash to volley a shot straight into the top corner to bring the score back to 3-1 for half time.

strong words needed at half time and we knew again we had given ourselves another mountain to climb. we didn't get off to the best of starts as a defensive slip allowed talk talks striker to pick his corner to make it 4-1..

the revival..........
great running and passing from darby, and some immense crossing from welshy allowed big ash to get on the scoresheet with a well taken goal, followed by a short range belter, and a poke from little ash brought the score amazingly back to 4-4 as talk talk seemed in a complete daze at what they were witnessing.

strong tackling from al, salmon and jonny p kept talk talk at bay, and some good takes, and blocks from jambo assured the back were doing the best we could to get a result. a lose ball squirming to their midfielder with no-one closing him down allowed them a free shot, and with jambo not getting enough on the save the ball nessled into the bottom corner to make it 5-4.

in the last 30 seconds lil ash looked set to earn us a draw but maybe the occasion got the better of him as he snapped his shot over the top right corner of the bar, the comeback wasnt going to happen this time.

the ref: seemed like he wanted to learn all of our names rather then ref a match. didnt get in quick enough when the occasion needed it, then had a go at the captains when it eventually did kick off.

dont know why but when we put in solid tackles (big ash's was nothing sort of orgasmic to watch, a real cruncher, but won the ball fairly) then darby, welshy get smashed by a few players at a time and he gives nothing.

guess thats another ref off our christmas card list aye boys.

well done to those who showed up today, to be 4-1 down after 50 minutes to getting within a shot in the last 30 seconds of a 5-5 thriller is nothing sort of amazing. we showed real pride today. personal dissapointments aside i was really proud of the team today.

rols, dave, and johnny p all ended up playing out of position and did the best they could and thats all that can be asked. well done.

welcome game for motm welshy, is nice to be hearing you moaning on the pitch with me too mate. excellent crosses and good passing.

we need to play for 90 minutes lads and we seem like we cant at the moment. we always seems to fall apart in the first and give ourselves a mountain to climb in the second half.

training with romany at lings academy 9-10 on thursday then the christmas do on saturday.
